Bistro Lunch Dining

The historic McCutchen House is open to the public for lunch during the University of South Carolina regular fall and spring semesters, 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m, Tuesday through Friday.*

*Due to students' academic requirements, lunch concludes by 2 p.m.

Lunches range from $12.95 to $13.95 + tax per person unless otherwise noted (lunch, beverages, and dessert included). McCutchen House is cashless. Please pay by credit, debit, check, Carolina Cash, IIT or direct billing.

Choice of Soup or Salad

  • McCutchen House Salad: Mixed greens, tomato, cucumber, sliced purple onion, shredded smoked Gouda and toasted slivered almonds. Choice of scratch-made house, ranch, blue cheese and balsamic dressings.
  • Soup of the Day: Prepared daily. Ask your server for the day's selection.

Entrées (choice of one)

  • The Racheal: Whole breast sliced turkey on grilled sourdough bread with Swiss cheese, house-made coleslaw, and 1000 island dressing. Served with a pickle spear and choice of white bean salad or seasoned French fries.  $12.95
  • Shepherd's Pie: Ground sirloin cooked in a rich gravy with vegetables and topped with piped mashed potatoes. Served with garlic-butter breadsticks.  GF $13.95
  • Pulled Pork Plate: Boneless Boston butts rubbed with our own spice blend and cider vinegar and cooked low and slow, chopped and mixed with a touch of our house-made barbeque sauce. Served with vegetable of the day and potatoes au gratin.  GF $13.95
  • Vegetarian Flat-bread Pizza: Naan bread spread with pesto, mozzarella, tomato, onion, kalamata olive and artichoke hearts and baked to perfection. Served with a side of white bean salad and garnished with grated parmesan and red pepper flakes.  $12.95
  • Fried Fish Plate: Sweet and firm Walleye fillet, breaded and fried golden brown. Served with a sauteed rice-quinoa, vegetable of the day, and house-made tartar sauce.  $13.95

Appetizers

  • Spinach Artichoke Dip: Hot dip topped with shredded parmesan cheese and served with pita rounds.  $8.50
  • Baked Brie Board: Warm brie topped with sweet fig preserves, pecans, and fresh rosemary. Served with granny smith sliced apple, and crostini.  $8.50
  • Tangy Ginger Fried Shrimp: Panko-breaded shrimp topped with scallions and served with a pacific ginger-soy sauce.  $7.50

A la carte

  • McCutchen House Salad: Mixed greens, tomato, cucumber, sliced purple onion rings, shredded smoked Gouda, toasted slivered almonds. Choice of our scratch-made house, ranch, blue cheese, and balsamic dressings.  $2.00
  • Soup: Prepared daily. Ask your server for the day's selection.  $2.00
  • Tomato Pie: $1.25 each
  • Desserts: McCutchen House signature chocolate walnut pie. Other desserts vary regularly.  $1.25
  • Beverages: Freshly brewed sweet and unsweetened tea. Coke®, Diet Coke®, Sprite®, lemonade.  $1.25

  • Reservations are recommended but not required.
  • Groups: McCutchen House is able to accommodate groups up to 20 with an advance reservation.

McCutchen House is an applied learning restaurant management laboratory for students studying in the School of Hospitality and Tourism Management. In addition to enjoying great food, guests have the opportunity to help students advance their knowledge and skills by providing valuable feedback on the hospitality and service.
